Diarrhoea & Vomiting

This is usually due to a virus and the body’s natural defences will clear the infection. The problem usually settles within 3-4 days. Anti-diarrhoea medicines are not a good idea as often the infection will take longer to clear the system.

We recommend plenty of clear fluids to avoid dehydration. Special preparations (Dioralyte) are useful in replacing both fluids and salt loss, particularly with severe diarrhoea and are safe at any age.
