Counsellors

The IAPT team work alongside Barrack Lane and will be offering low intensity and high intensity psychological interventions. The low intensity work includes support, advice and guidance based on cognitive behavioural therapy as well as encouragement and monitoring, using self help techniques. This approach is offered for up to six sessions. The high intensity work offers one to one cognitive behavioural therapy usually on a weekly basis for up to 20 sessions depending on the severity of the condition. Cognitive behavioural therapy is an approach based on making the links between our ‘thoughts, feelings and behaviour’. The aim being to break the cycles that maintain a problem.
