Proxor - Important Information About Your Repeat Prescription

Dear Patient,

In line with best clinical practice and local guidelines, we regularly review the medicines we prescribe to ensure they remain safe, effective, and cost-effective. The NHS also supports switching to more environmentally friendly inhalers where this is appropriate for the patient.

Following a review by your GP practice or prescribing team, an update has been made to your inhaler prescription.

What has changed?
Your inhaler has been changed to Proxor. Proxor contains the same medication and is the same type of inhaler as your current one. It is more cost-effective and produces similar or fewer greenhouse gases, making it a more environmentally friendly option.

You may notice that the Proxor inhaler looks or tastes slightly different, but it should work in the same way and contains the same number of doses.

What do I need to do?

  • Continue using your new Proxor inhaler in the same way as your previous inhaler

  • Read the patient information leaflet supplied with your new inhaler carefully

  • If you need help using your inhaler, please speak to your local pharmacy

  • Please use any inhalers you already have at home before ordering and starting your new Proxor supply

You should not experience any adverse effects as a result of this change. However, if you notice any new or unexpected effects, please contact your GP practice.
